Ref: Board’s letter of even no. dated 27.10.2021. ने के के ने के Attention is invited to Board’s letter under reference, wherein guidelines regarding provision of e-Parcel Way Bill (e-P WB) and e-Luggage Ticket (e-LT) in the PMS were issued. It has come to the notice that some of the Zonal Railways are not adhering to the above mentioned provisions, and consignees already having e-PWB/e-LT are being asked to produce e-PWB/e-LT in physical form while taking delivery of the consignment. Since, provision of e-PWB/e-LT has been introduced in PMS to facilitate electronic transmission of Parcel Way Bill/Luggage Ticket so as to avoid submission of PWB/LT in physical form at the destination station, consignee(s) having e-PWB/e-LT should not be asked to produce PWB/LT in physical form. CAO/PIS/93/PMS/Phase-I/Rollout issues/IR/2014/Part-I, dated 04.10.2021. के ने के KK In order to facilitate transmission of Parcel-way Bill/Luggage Ticket to rail users electronically through Parcel Management System (PMS), it has been decided to introduce provision of e-Parcel Way Bill (e-PWB) and e-Luggage Ticket (e-LT) in the PMS. The provision for generating e-PWB/e-LT has already been made online in the PMS w.e.f. 20.09.2021. In this regard, detailed guidelines have also been issued vide CAO/PIS, Northern Railway’s letter under reference (copy enclosed). Accordingly, Zonal Railways are requested to issue necessary instructions all concerned for extensive use of the facility of e-PWB/e-LT. It is further requested to ensure that in order to avail the facility, email id and mobile number of both the consignor and consignee should be taken from the consignor at the time of booking at the counter.
