(Commercial Circular No.70of 2001) Sub: Granting of permission for Block Booking to Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC). Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Lid.(IRCTC) has requested Ministry of Railways to grant them permission for their value added tour packages to do block booking across the counter on a requisition signed by an authorised officer of their organization not below . the rank of Group General Manager(GGM) and on furnishing all details such as name, age, sex etc at the lime of booking. The matier has been examined in the Ministry of Railways and it has been decided that Biock Booking permission may be granted to IRCTC. if it is recommended by the authorised officer of IRCTC of the rank of GGM and above subject to the conditions that the permission asked for is not for more than 50 berths ina train at a time or 25% of the accommodation of the class available in the train whichever is tess, the accommodation is being booked for vatue added tour packages organized by IRCTC and 6n furnishing all details such as name. age, Sex etc. at the time of booking.
