                         Sub:  Policy on earmarking of berths on demand from IRCTC 
for value added tour packages.

Please refer to Para 4.1 of Board’s letter of even number dated 
27.10.2006 on the subject quoted above wherein it has been advised that 
number of berths to be earmarked in the Passenger Reservation system for the 
Value Added Tour packages of IRCTC would be finalized by IRCTC in 
consultation with the CCM/PMs of the concerned Zonal Railways at least 70 
days in advance of the scheduled commencement of the first trip.  
 
    
    
In view of enhancement of advance reservation period form 60 days to 
90 days for three months on experimental basis w.e.f. 01.3.2007,  it has been 
decided that the number of berths to be earmarked in the Passenger Reservation 
System for the value added tour packages of IRCTC would be finalized by 
IRCTC in consultation with CCM/PMs of the concerned Zonal Railways at least 
100 days in advance of the scheduled commencement of the first trip instead of 
70 days as mentioned in para 4.1 of the above mentioned instructions.    In case 
Advance Reservation Period is modified after this period of three months, the 
above time period in which IRCTC has to finalize these proposals will change 
to 10 days more than the Advance Reservation Period.  
 
 
All concerned may be advised accordingly.
