Issuing of Platform Tickets by Jan Sadharan Ticket Booking Sewak (JTBS) platform tickets as prescribed to journey tickets.
GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (RAILWAY BOARD) RRR No. 2012/TG-I/20/P/JTBS/Pt I New Delhi, dated 04 .09, 2012 Chief Commercial Managers, All Zonal Railways. (COMMERCIAL CIRCULAR NO. 52 OF 2012) Sub: Issuing of Platform Tickets by Jan Sadharan Ticket Booking Sewak (JTBS). Please refer to this office letter of even number dated 25.06.2012 (CC No. 41 of 2012) on the subject quoted above wherein it has been advised that JTBS may be authorized to issue platform tickets also. References have been received from zonal Railways seeking clarifications on the following issues:- (i) Whether JTBS is entitled to collect ¥1 /- per head on the sale of platform tickets as prescribed to journey tickets. (ii) Whether the validity period of the platform tickets (i.e two hours) issued by the JTBS will remain same. 2. It is clarified that vide instructions referred to above, JTBS have been allowed to sell platform tickets in addition to existing tickets permissible to be sold by them and there is no change in other terms and conditions. As such:- ः a) JTBS is entitled to collect service charge @ ¥1 per passenger in case of platform tickets also. b) There is no change in the validity period of platform tickets being sold by JTBS. . 3.
