(Commercial Circular No. 66 of 2009) Sub: Appointment of Jan Sadharan Ticket Booking Sewak(JTBS) , Please refer to Board’s letters No. 2007/TG-I/20/JTBS dated 24.01.2008 (Commercial Circular No. 08 of 2008) on the subject quoted above wherein detailed guidelines for appointment of JTBS have been specified. Subsequently a copy of - Standard Agreement to be signed between JTBS and Zonal Railways was circulated vide Commercial Circular No. 03 of 2009 issued on 27-01-2009. CRIS, while . referring to para 3.4 of Standard Agreement has sought a clarification whether the ~ check of lower financial limit of Rs. 10,000/-, upto which JTBS can issue tickets, as prescribed in the standard agreement and which was not in the original scheme, has to be provided in the system universally for all JTBS so that tickets by JTBS cannot be issued if the amount deposited by them is less then Rs. 10, 000/-. 1.1 Clarification has also been sought as to whether JTBS can issue platform tickets. . 2. The issue has been examined and the following position is clarified:- - Gi) The check of lower financial limit of Rs. 10,000/-, upto which JTBS can issue tickets, has to be provided in the system universally for all JTBS so that tickets by JTBS cannot be issued if the amount deposited by them is less. than Rs.10, 000/-. This provision shall be made effective w.e.f. 01-01-2010 universally for all JTBS (existing as well as those to be appointed). (ii) CRIS shall make necessary modification in the software under intimation to all zonal Railways and this office. 7 (iii) , JTBS should not be allowed to sell platform tickets. 3.
