Sub: Frauds in case of manual refunds. —

Please refer to Commercial Circular No.42 of 2000 issued vide this
office letter of even number dated 4.8.2000 wherein it has been advised
that in all such cases where refund is not permissible across the counter “No
wt Refund” should appear on the reservation chart under the message column

\ and net under the ticket number and, therefore, the authority to travel and
the message ‘No Refund’ must appear altogether. ~ .

CRIS while referring to instructions mentioned _above have advised
. that the phrase “No refund” can not fit fully in the message field and has
requested Ministry of Railways to. advise the abbreviation of no refund which _
should fit in the message field of 4 characters.

The matter has been reviewed in the Ministry of Railways and it has

been decided that in all such cases where refund is not permissible across

7 the counter, abbreviation “NRFD" should appear in the message column and
the authority to travel should come under the column “Ticket No.” The

‘| d “NRED” should be explained in the bottom of the chart.
