Sub: 'Battery Operated Vehiclesfor Disabled and Old Age Passengers'

Railways have been advised to provide 'Battery Operated Vehicles for
Disabledand Old Age Passengers' at railway stationsthrough commercial publicity
route. Instructionsin this regard have been issued vide Board's letter of even no.
dated26.08.09(CommercialCircularNo. 38 of2009).
The matterhas beenreviewedby Boardand it hasbeen decidedthat:
The scheme is extendedfurther,for a period of three years. Accordingly,the
validity of instructionscontainedin CommercialCircular No. 38 of 2009 are
also extendedfor a periodof threeyearsLe.upto 26.08.2013.
As alreadyprescribed,an agreementshall be enteredinto with the party fora
maximum period of one year, which may, however, be further extended
annuallybased onthe satisfactoryservicesprovidedby the party.
The agreementsignedearlierwith the parties may also be extendedannually,
in case,the servicesprovidedby the partyare satisfactory.
The totalperiod of thecontract,however,shall not exceedbeyond26.08.2013,
as the schemeis beingextendedfor threeyearsonly.
Six monthlyreportsmay be sentto Boardto enablereview of the scheme.
This issues with the concurrenceof the .finance Directorate of Ministry of
Railways.
