Railways have been advised to provide ‘Battery Operated Vehicles for Disabled, Old aged and
Sick passengers’ at railway stations through Commercial Publicity route. Instructions in this regard
were issued and the scheme was further extended subsequently for a period of three years {.e. upto
26.08.2013 vide Commercial Circulars mentioned above.

The matter has been further reviewed by Board and ilt has been decided that:

1) The scheme be extended further for a period of 3 years from 26.08.2013, i.e. upto
26.08.2016.

2) As already prescribed, an agreement shall be entered into with the party for a maximum
period of one year, which may, however, be further extended annually based on the
satisfactory services provided by the party.

3) The agreement signed currently with the parties may also be extended annually, in case,
the services provided by the party are satisfactory.

4) The tatal period of the contract, however, shall not exceed beyond 26.08.2016.

5) An annual review of the performance shall be undertaken to assess the revenue involved

and possibility of revenue sharing.
