Sub: Concession to Accredited Press Correspondents.

Reference para 1.1 of Commercial Circular No. 36 of 2009 regarding concession to
Accredited Press Correspondents wherein it has been mentioned that Photo identity cant
will be issued on production of the certification by the Press Information Bureau and other
competent State and local authorities as per the specimen ‘form of certificate’ attached as
- Annexure ‘A’ with the above mentioned circular.
2. In the above mentioned form, PIB have inter-alia suggested that instead of
certification from them regarding the spouse of the correspondent, an undertaking can be
obtained from the Press Correspondent wherein he/she declares the name/age of the spouse.
3. They have also suggested that instead of ‘Deputy Principle Information Officer,
Govt. Of India, the authorized signatory should be “Authorised Accreditation Officer, Press
Information Bureau, Government of India”. :
4. Ministry of Railways have agreed to the above two suggestions. Accordingly, a
copy of the revised form is enclosed herewith for necessary action and compliance.
3. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of
Railways.

to the Headquarters of the Government of India or Headquarters of State Government/Union
Territory/District of ______________ , and recommend that the identity card may be issued on
the condition that it will be used by him/her only for journeys for the work as a Press
Correspondent.
It is also certified that the cost of journey will be borne by the person concerned and no
TA/DA will be claimed from the employer. The Photograph of Shri/Smt. ___________ is
attested below.
