TCI/2704/2009/Policy _. _._ New Delhi dated _ 2 .11.2016 The General Managers (Commi.) All Indian Railways. Sub: Revalidation of Photo identity cards of Accredited Press Correspondents. Ref. Commercial Circular No.36 of 2009, 20 and 53 of 2011 and 54 of 2013. Attention is invited to Commercial Circular No.36 of 2008 regarding grant of rail travel concession to accredited Press Correspondents on production of Photo Identity cards, In terms of para 1.2 of the said circular, the Photo Identity card. was valid for two years from the date of issue. . Further, vide Commercial Circular No.53 of 2011, Photo Identity Cards of Press Correspondents were further revalidated for another two years i.e, upto October 2013 and for a period of six months i.e. upto 30.04.2014. 2. Further, it had been decided to issue new Photo Identity Card to Press Correspondents with effect from 01.05.2014 with two years.validity_period. from the date of issue. , . . 3. The process of issuing identity card for Accredited Press Correspondents with provision of concessional online ticketing & through PRS is under examination in Board's Office. ं Meanwhile, it is advised that, ‘After expiry of current validity period for identity cards issued to Accredited Press Correspondents, existing card may be revalidated for a period of another. one year or implementation of new card system for e-ticket / PRS counter ticket whichever is earlier. The procedure for revalidation should be adopted as per Board's Commercial Circular No.53 of 2011 dated 11.10.2011.’ 4. _ Necessary instructions may be issued to ail concerned immediately including . PRS/UTS immediately and compliance ensured. 5. Wide publicity through various media may be given. Zonal Railways are advised to intimate the concerned accreditation certificate issuing Agencies within’ their jurisdiction regarding the revalidation procedure.
