Revalidation of Photo identity cards of Press Correspondents new Photo Identity card, which will be valid with effect from 01.05.2014.
GOVERNMENT OF INDIA(@R सरकार) MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (रेल मंत्रालय ) RAILWAY BOARD (रेलवे बोर्ड) COMMERCIAL CIRCULAR NO. 5 4OF 2013 NO. TCII/2704/2009/Policy New Delhi, dated4y 08.2013 The General Managers (Comml.), All Indian Railways. Sub: Revalidation of Photo identity cards of Press Correspondents Reference, Commercial Circular No. 36 of 2009 regarding grant of rail travel concession to accredited Press Correspondents on production of Photo identity cards. In terms of para 1.2 of the above mentioned circular, the Photo Identity card was valid for two years from the date of issue. Further, vide Commercial Circular No. 53 of 2011 Photo Identity Cards of Press Correspondents were further revalidated for another two years i.e upto October 2013. 2. ft has now been decided that Photo Identity Cards of Press Correspondents should be revalidated for another six months i.e upto 30.04.2014, The procedure for revalidation should be adopted as per Board”s Commercial Circular No. 53 of 2011 dated 11.10.2011. 3. Further, Ministry of Railways have decided to issue new Photo Identity Card to Press Correspondents with effect from 01.05.2014. The process should be started for issue of new Photo Identity card, which will be valid with effect from 01.05.2014. The validity of fresh Photo Identity card will be two years from the date of issue. The same procedure should be followed as per para 4 of Commercial circular No. 36 of 2009 for issue of new photo identity card to Press correspondents. However, it may be ensured that before issue of new photo Identity cards to Press Correspondents, the alpha-numeric code of existing identity cards should be blocked/disabled in the system and a new number should be assigned for the new Photo identity cards, so as to avoid any misuse. 4, Necessary arrangements may be made for issuing of new Photo Identity Card valid with effect from 01.05.2014. 5. Accordingly, necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned immediately including PRS/UTS immediately and compliance ensured. 6. Wide publicity through various media may be given. Zonal Railways are requested to intimate the concerned accreditation certificate issuing Agencies within their jurisdiction regarding the revalidation procedure/issue of new identity card.
