All Indian Railways.
Sub: Concession facility to family of correspondents twice a year.
As per existing rules, 50% concession is admissible in all classes in basic fares of
Mail/Express trains and in fares of Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Jan Shatabdi trains to accredited
Press Correspondents for unlimited travel on bonafide press work. The same concession is
also admissible to spouse/companion and dependent children up to 18 years of the
correspondent while travelling with himlher once in a financial year.
The above was
intimated to Railways vide Board's letter of even number dated 10.8.2009 (Commercial
Circular No 36 of 2009 and corrigendum dated 24.9.2009 & Commercial Circular No. 17
of2010)

As announced by Hon'ble MR o~ 25.2.2011 in the Budget Speech for 2011-12,

Railways
have
decided
to
extend
the
concession
to
family
(Spouse/companion
and dependent
children
UP to 18 years)
twice durin!!
the
financial year. The facilitv will be effective from 01.06.2011.

There is no change in other terms and conditions.
4.
This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of
Railways.
5.
Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned immediately including
PRSIUTS immediately and compliance ensured.
