( Commercial Circular No. 34 of 2003 ) Sub: Provision of stoppage of any train at a station and allotment of reservation quota thereon.. Instructions are issued by the Coaching Directorate of the Ministry of Railways regarding provision of stoppage of a train at a station on an experimental basis for a certain period of time. It has come to the notice of this Office that although the train continues to stop even after the period of experimental stoppage is over, the sale of tickets is discontinued resulting in inconvenience to the passengers. The matter has been reviewed. It has been decided that the withdrawal of stoppage and discontinuance of sale of tickets will be jointly decided by the Operating and Commercial Departments. The occupation figures for the stoppage for the trial period should be timely reviewed by the Commercial Department. This may be brought to the notice of all concerned. for compliance. The Chief Commercial Managers, All Zonal Railways. tj Sub: Provision of stoppage of any train at a station and allotment of reservation quota thereon, In continuation of Board’s instructions of’ even number dated 29.5.2002 on the subject quoted above, (Commercial Circular No. 34 of 2003) (copy enclosed), Board desire that it should be ensured that tickets are being issued from all such stations where stoppage of a train was provided for a definite period on an experimental basis but was not withdrawn after expiry of that period. This should be done in co-ordination with the respective CPTMs to ensure that the stoppage is not withdrawn without the knowledge of Commercial Department.
