Sub: Restriction for booking of parcels to and from intermediate
station(s) by train having stoppage of less than 5 minutes.

Ref: i. Southern Rly’s letter no. C.441/II/10/PMS/Vol.VI, dated
06.09.2022.

ii. Board’s letter of even number dated 27.05.2022.

The proposal sent by the Zonal Railway vide letter under ref.(i) has been
examined.

In this regard, it is stated that in terms of the extant provisions stipulated in the

IRCA Coaching Tariff No. 25 (Part-II), effective from 01.10.2013, booking of parcels

“To” & “From” intermediate stations of a train is permitted only if that particular train
(except ordinary passenger trains & for luggage traffic) stops at those intermediate
stations for 5 (five) minutes or more. Accordingly, the said provisions have been

incorporated in the Parcel Management System (PMS).

Attention is invited to Board’s letter under ref.(ii), wherein it was advised that
Zonal Railway may process — jointly by Commercial and Operating departments — to
arrange for adequate stoppage time for trains (having stoppage time for less than 5

exist, so as to facilitate booking/ loading/ unloading of parcels from such stations(s).

It is therefore once again advised to take necessary action accordingly.
