Sub: Clarifications regarding installation of ATMs at Stations.

' A Meniorandum of Understanding has been signed by Ministry of
Railways with State Bank for installation of ATMs at 681 stations on Indian
Railways. One station was added later on. A copy of the Memorandum of
Understanding and the Standard Agreement to be signed between zonal raifway
concemed and State Bank have been circulated to zona! railways vide this office
letier dated 11/08/2006. MoU! is also bkely to be signed with six other
nationalised banks for installation of ATMs at 711 stations (list enclosed).
Clarifications have been sought by some zonal railways on this account. The
clarifications sought for and the comments thereon are as under: -

In case there is difficulty in
providing site for ATM covered
under MoU, the matter can be
taken up with the concemed bank
and the station can be substituted
by some other station of same
catepory.

Instructions have been reiterated from time to time to zonal milways to
ensure that there is no deiay in instatlation of ATMs on account of inter-
departmental disputes, if any. Compliance of these instructions should be
ensured. Advance list of 711 stations for which MoU is likely to be signed with
six other nationalised banks is enclosed. It is desired that action should be taken
by zonal railways in advance to complete the formalities of site selection to avoid
any delay on this account.
Necessary instructions should be issued to all concerned and kindly
acknowledge receipt of this letter:
