Corrigendum No.13 of Rates Master Circular/Weighment/2019/0 ffira" '8.CcfiFl GOVERNMENT OF INDIA ~'1:illt'l4 MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (~ iM' RAILWAY BOARD) No.TC-I/2020/109/efile/1 (3323589) New Delhi, dt.12.04.2024 General Manager All Zonal Railways Sub: Dispensation from weighment in case of empty containers Ref: (i) Rates Master Circular/Weighrnent/2019/0 and its amendments (ii) Rates Circular No.95 of 2006 (iii) Board's letter No.TC-I/2023/302/efile/1(3449689) dt.12.01.2024 Please refer to Rates Master Circular/Weighrnent/2019/0 regarding weighrnent/dispensation from weighrnent of wagons/rake. The matter has been examined and it has been decided to permit dispensation from weighrnent in case of empty containers, by inserting an additional para 3 .3 .2 in the Rates Master Circular/Weighrnent/2019/0, as given below- "3.3.2 Dispensation from weighment in case of empty containers: Dispensation from weighrnent may be permitted in case of container rake loaded with empty containers on the basis of declaration given by the container operator that containers are empty while tendering Forwarding Note at the time of loading. Zonal Railway will conduct random checks on 5% of rakes. On detection of misdeclaration, penalty for misdeclaration will be levied as per Board's guidelines under reference (ii) & (iii). This will be in addition to Haulage Charge already paid for empty containers." These guidelines will be effective w.e.f.15.04.2024, for a period of one year i.e. upto 14.04.2025 .. Zonal Railways will furnish its feedback alongwith requisite data for continuance of the above guidelines, by the end of January, 2025.
