Sub: Implementation of online indenting of Parcel Vans.
Ref: Railway Board’s letter no. 2024/TC(FM)/11/11, dated: 26.06.2025.

A copy of the letter of railway board regarding development of module in
the 'Freight Business Development (FBD)' portal for online indenting of Parcel
Vans, i.e. both in 'piece-meal VPs' and ‘indented Parcel trains’ is enclosed
herewith for information please.

It may be noted that manual indenting of Parcel Vans in ‘Piecemeal’
and ‘indented Parcel trains’ shall be discounted w.e.f. 01.07.2025.

It is requested to ensure effective utilization of the said newly developed
feature for indenting of VPs. Further, it is requested to keep updating status of
Parcel offices/Locations/Terminals, as notified from time to time for handling
of Parcel traffic to this office and CRIS, so as to facilitate the online indenting of
VPs by customers without any hindrance.

Please find enclosed herewith copies of the letters under reference from CAO/PIS and
CRIS regarding development of module in the ‘Freight Business Development (FBD)’ portal
for online indenting of Parcel Vans, i.e. both in ‘piece-meal VPs’ and ‘indented Parcel trains’.
Zonal Railways were also requested to ensure effective utilization of the said newly developed
feature for indenting of VPs.

2. CRIS vide their letter dtd. 24.06.2025 has communicated that online booking of Parcel
Vans in the said module has been successfully carried out over Railways. In this regard, a
manual for online booking of VPs (as furnished by CRIS) is also enclosed herewith. In case,
any clarification or assistance is required regarding for the said module, the following officials
of CRIS may be contacted:

3. Keeping in view the successful implementation of the above mentioned module for
online indenting of VPs, and in order to streamline the Parcel traffic, it has been decided that
manual indenting of Parcel Vans in ‘piecemeal’ and ‘indented Parcel trains’ shall be
discontinued w.e.f. 01.07.2025.

4. Zonal Railways are requested to ensure effective utilization of the said module. Wide
publicity of the module may be done among the parcel customers.

5. Zonal Railwaysare also requested to keep updating status of Parcel offices/ Locations/
Terminals, as notified from time to time for handling of Parcel traffic to CRIS, so as to
facilitate the online indenting of VPs by customers without any hindrance.
