GOVERNMENT OF INDIA(4RG सरकार) MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS [रेल मंत्रालय) RAILWAY BOARD (रेलवे बोर्ड) No. 2005/TG-1/20/P/Patient.Pt New Delhi, Dated2+-02.2015 The General Managers The General Manager (PRS) All Zonal Railways CRIS, Chanakyapuri New Delhi Commercial Circular Noj 0 of 2015 Sub: Emergency quota for Railway Employees suffering from cancer With a view to facilitate cancer patients in getting confirmed accommodation, instructions were issued vide Commercial Circular No.61 of 2008 and modified vide CC No. 25/2010 giving cancer patients direct access to the emergency quota for booking berths for themselves as well as their attendants while travelling on concession certificate. 2. A case had come to the notice wherein a railway employee suffering from cancer and travelling on Medical Pass was not given direct access to emergency quota. In view of the above, the matter has been examined and it has been decided that the Railway Employees (or their dependents) suffering from cancer, when travelling on medical pass in Sleeper & 3AC classes, may also be allowed direct access to emergency quota at par with the other cancer patients, while travelling in these classes in which the latter have been granted 100% concession. 3. This will, however, require pass issuing authority to indicate the word ‘cancer patient’ on.the medical pass being issued to cancer patients so that the booking clerk can identify such passes, If no indication is given on the medical pass, this facility will not be extended. 4, Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned.
