Summary

Owing to irregular running of trains, if two or more trains are ready to start from a same end of a Block Section, preference shall be given to the train standing higher in the table of precedence.

# General Precedence Order of Trains (BWM 1.7)
On controlled sections, trains worked in accordance with controller’s orders.
On non - controlled sections or in the event of interruption in control communications, trains shall be given precedence  over  each  other  in following order: -

1st - MRV and / or ART or light engines proceeding to work such trains or to accident spot.
2nd -Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Superfast/ Express Trains.
3rd –Troop Trains.

# General order of precedence of trains
4th - Passenger Trains including Rail cars and Rail Motor coaches.
5th - Mixed trains.
6th - Inspection trains.
7th -Relief trains returning from Scene of accident. (if with Injured passenger higher priority will be given)
8th - Goods Trains.
9th - Light Engines not going to accident spot.
10th- Material and all other trains.

# General Order of Precedence of trains
Owing to irregular running of trains, if two or more trains are ready to start from a same end of a Block Section, preference shall be given to the train standing higher in the table of precedence.
If both trains have the same order of precedence, preference shall be given to the one having the longer distance to run.

# General
In order to avoid excessive detention to train of lesser importance, a Mail/ Express train running less than 10 minutes late may be detained up to 10 minutes in order to save a delay of 30 minutes or more to a passenger train or 45 minutes to a Goods train.

A passenger train running less than 10 minutes late may be detained up to 10 minutes in order to avoid a delay of 30 minutes or more to a Goods train.

# Hot Axle & Hanging Part in Train

# When it is found in a train
If an axle box of a vehicle found running hot at a station, where C&W staff not available, vehicle shall be detached from the train.
Axle box running hot between stations, train shall be brought to a stand immediately.
Axle box examined by the LP after opening axle box face plate.
Attend axle box, excise his discretion with regard to the speed.
On arrival at station, shall be detached from train.

Symptoms of Hot Axle

Emission of Smoke / Flame from Axle Box,
Splashing of Grease around Axle Box,
Smell of Burning Grease,
Peeling of Paint around axle box,
Unusual metallic Sound,
Skidding of Wheels, etc.

HOT AXLE IN A RUNNING TRAIN

If Hot Axle noticed by any Railway staff,

To show hand danger signal to stop train.
 If LP not noticed HD Signal given by Station Staff
Then SM to communicate to LP,

SM to put back LSS to stop train.
If Train already passed LSS, then
SM  to inform Gate Man of LC, if any, to show H D Signal.
 If Train could not be stopped, SM to inform SM in advance.

			In electrified area
SM to inform TPC to switch off Power.
Inform Controller,
If no Tension in OHE for 3 minutes, then
LP & Guard shall check Formation

By S M in advance:
 Train to be stopped at FSS.
SM shall inform LP by issuing a Memo.
LP & Guard shall check particular vehicle.
If it safe, Train received on Main line.
Speed shall be at discretion of LP.
If Main line occupied,
Train received on first unavoidable turnout.

Hot Axle noticed on run by GDLP

Train shall be stopped immediately.
Vehicle shall be examined by LP & Guard.
If safe, Block Section shall be cleared.
Speed shall be on discretion of LP.
Hot Axle classified under Class J.

# Running gear considered as dangerous
When receives information, SM shall
Bring train to a stop outside FSS.
Train shall be thoroughly examined before being admitted.
