Sub: Installation of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) at
681 Railway Stations on Indian Railway by SBI.

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Ministry
of Railways and State Bank for installation of Automated Teller Machines
(ATMs) at 681 locations. ( one location added later on). Instructions in this
regard issued vide this office letter of even number dated 11-08-2006
(Commercial Circular No. 67 of 2006) may please be connected. As per
MoU, 15 month time period was given to State Bank for installation of these
ATMs along with e-ticketing kiosks at selected locations. This time period
has expired on 3.11.2007.

State Bank of India, while quoting number of difficulties encountered
by them in installation of ATMs, has requested to extend the validity of the
MoU by another six months.

The matter has been reviewed and it has been decided to extend the
validity of the MoU for installation of ATMs by State Bank and its
associates by another six months i.e upto 3.5.2008. Zonal Railway may take
all necessary steps to ensure expeditious installation of ATMs as per terms
and conditions mentioned in the MoU and standard agreement.
