2. The aforesaid policy instructions have been reviewed by the d and it has been
decided that the instructions contained in para 4 of Tourism Directorate circular dt
27.7,2006 and also in circular 17.8.2006 regarding allocation of berths in existing trains
and additional coaches, if attached stand withdrawn. However, instructions in regard to
luxury tourist ~trains’ and domestic tourist trains mentioned _ in| circular

No.2005/Tourism/1 40/12/Pt. dated 27.7.2006 would remain unchanged

3.0 in regard to carmarking of berths on demand from IRCTC on existing trains and
in additional coaches for value added tour packages following consolidated instructions
will be applicable in supersession of previous instructions. .

4.0 - Booking

4.1 Number of berths to be earmarked in the Passenger Reservation System for the
value added tour packages of IRCTC would be finalized by IRCTC in consultation with
ihe CCM/PMs of the concerned Zonal Railways at least 70 days in advance of the
scheduled commencement of the first trip. The number of berths carmarked for this

purpose will not exceed 10% of total berths in Sleeper ¢lass and 15% of total berths in ,

AC Class in that train.

4.2. IRCTC will make vatue added tour packapes based on these earmarked berths by.

including sight seving, stay, etc. and will market these tourism products,
4.3 फट value added tour packages should cover both peak and non-peak periods.

4.4 The periodicity and the number of berths should be uniform through the currency
of the tour so as to reduce the requirement of maintenance of varying Data base in the
PRS. Any relaxation in this regard should be decided in consultation with CCM/PM.

4.5 The berths decided to be earmarked would be incorporated in the train profile, —

5.0 Payment

5.1 A lump sum deposit equivalent to the passenger fare as applicable for the berths
carmarked ptus 15% for the first trip for each circuit would bel taken at the dime of
cammarking the accommodation. This deposit will be refunded on completion of the
currency of the particular value added tour packages

§.2 IRCTC will furnish names of the passengers booked 72 hours in advance of the
tour. For each berth utilized by IRCTC, the IRCTC will pay the normal fare plus 15%
service charge, No concession would be admissible. However, ticket for child would be
issued as per child fare,

5.3 The list of names of the tourists booked will be given by IRCTC 72 hours before
the scheduled departure of the train to the CCM/PM as well as to the CRS/Charfing at the
train originating station. The names should be incorporated in the PRS and the unutilized
berths would be released for the general public

6.0  IRCTC in consultation with CRIS and CCM/PM would evolve a procedure for e-

booking of the cannarked berths by IRCFC. If booking is done through e-ticketing, |

suitable procedure for adjustment of fare as applicable plus 15% service charge for the
berths booked by IRCTC for value added tour package
