Southern Railway, Madurai division invites applications for appointment of licensed
coolie porters at the following 30 stations in Madurai Dn.

The application forms and other documents shall be issued at ‘The Divisional office,
Commercial Branch, Southern Railway, Madurai. From 10 AM to 5 PM on all working days.
Alternatively, specimens of the application forms are available with the Station Masters at the
above
mentioned
stations
or
the
same
can
be
down
loaded
from
website
www.Sr.indianrailways.gov.in
Last date for receipt of applications is 12.11.2018
Railway is not responsible for loss or late or non-receipt of applications.
Applications received after 12.11.2018 will not be considered.
All the applications should be sent to the above address by RPAD/Speed post only.
Applicants should be reside of within the limit of the corporation or municipality or
panchayat of the station for which he is applying.

IMPORTANT NOTE
1. The applicant should not be below the age of 18 years as on 12.11.2018.
2. The application should be sent on the prescribed format along with documents as
required.
3. The Photo should be attested by Gazetted Officer or Headmaster of the school or
sarpanch or MLA or MP or station Superintendent in-charge of nearest Railway
stations, with signature half on photo and half on the application form with rubber
stamp.
4. The application should be forwarded by Photo attesting authority with certificate
as per item 8 of application format.
5. The application complete in all respect should be sent by Registered Post with
A/D/Speed post to the office Superintendent, Commercial Branch, Divisional
Railway Manager’s office, South Railway, Madurai Division, in the prescribed
proforma.
6. The applicant should also attach all relevant documents and Two self addressed
envelope with Rs.35/- postage stamp affixed on each envelope.
7. The last date for receiving application shall be 12.11.2018 (upto 17.00 Hrs)
The application received after 12.11.2018 shall not be considered.
8. Incomplete application will be rejected outright and no documents will be
accepted subsequently after the receipt of application in office. The applicant must
write on the top of envelop in bold and capital letters.
“APPLICATION FOR LICENSED PORTERS AT............................ STATION”.
9. Applicant may be subjected to suitable physical test to ascertain the physical
ability to carry out the job of Licensed Porters.
10. Applicant should attach the proof of age, educational qualifications, experience in
working as porters in Hotels/Airports/Bus Stands etc and proof of antecedents viz.
Scouts and guides, Wards of Railway Employees or Ex. Serviceman or Licensed
Porters and community
