section 38 of prevention to Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 (59 of 1960) 6 wheeled and bogie wagons will be reckoned as 1.5 and two 4 wheeled wagons respectively.BOX and BCX wagons will be charged as for two 4 wheeled BG wagons and OZ type wagon as for one 4 wheeled BG wagon and CRT type of wagon as for 1.10 times a 4 wheeled BG wagon when loaded with sheepand goats.

Attendants, Fodder, buckets, etc.- [***stands recast as per C.S.113 of 7-5-2002***].** “ No consignments of livestock and other animals will be accepted for conveyance unless each wagon load of animals is accompanied by an attendant or attendants, according to circumstances as specified below ad with fodder to feed the animals on the journey, and at least two drums are providing each 4-wheeled or 6-wheeled wagons and four drums in a 8 wheeler wagon to store water from which the animals can be given water. The attendant shall fill up these drums at the loading station and also refill them whenever the train is provided suitable stoppage. The fodder ,bucket and drums will be carried free, vide Rule No. 416 The attendant or attendants will also be carried free as per scale given below:" **404 –**Loading ,unloading and transhipment :- The loading, unloading and transshipment of livestock and other animals will be done by the owner or the attendant as representing the the owner at his own risk and expense.such loading ,unloading and transshipment is to be done during daytime only but under special circumstances and on a written request from the owner or the attendant representing the owner,permission may be given for it to be done after dusk also within the working hours of the goods shed/station, the risk, responsibility and expenses for which will be entirely that of the owner. **Rule- 404 A**. **Transportation** — While transporting cattle (cows, bulls, bullocks, buffaloes, yaks and calves) by train, Railway Administrations are required to observe the following Rules laid down in the Transport of Animals Rules,1978 framed by the Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation. 1.While submitting the forwarding Note for the cattle consignment, the consignor shall indicate his full address as also that of the consignee and also furnish a statement on the compliance of the following items:- 1. The consignor shall submit a valid certificate issued by a qualified veterinary surgeon to the eftect that the cattle are in fit condition to travel by rail and are not suffering from any infectious, contagious or parasitic disease and that they have been vaccinated against rinderpest and any other infectious, contagious or parasitic disease. The degree of fitness will be decided taking into account the approximate journey period. The certificate shall be in the farm (copy enclosed specified under the Transportation of Animals Rules, 1978 and is also natfied in the Goods tariff as Appendix 1/14. 2. The consignor shall provide a label on each wagon showing in bold letters, the name, address and telephone No. (if any) of the consignor and consignee. the number and type of cattle being transported and quantity of rations and food provided. He will also indicate in the label the certificate number with date issued by the Veterinary Surgeon. 3. The consignor shall also arrange sending attendants (s). He will provide a declaration that at
