It has been decided with the approval of competent authority to hold a selection for forming a 
panel of ACM (Gr.'B') against 70% quota vacancies. The break-up of vacancies are as under:

() In terms of Rly. Bd's letter no. E(GP)2019/2/25 dated 27.12.2019 (RBE No. 216/2019), 
Group-C' employees of Commercial Department working in level-6 and above in Pay Matrix 
with 03 years of non-fortuitous service in level-6 and above in Pay Matrix (including non 
fortuitous service rendered in the corresponding pre-revised grade pay will be eligible). 
(iü) In terms of Railway Board's letter No. E(GP)88/2/54 dated 31.01. 1992, Group 'C 
employees working as Law Assistants/Chief Law Assistants, fulfilling the above service criteria 
are also eligible to appear in the said selection. 
(ii) In terms of Railway Board's letter No. E(GP)2024/2/28 dated 08.10.2024 (RBE No. 
93/2024), it has been decided by Board that henceforth, in respect of Selection (709%) to 
Group 'B' posts in all departments, all employees who are eligible and who volunteer for the 
selection, should be considered without any limitation of number. 
(iv) In terms of instructions contained in Railway Board's letter No. E(NG)I/81/PM1/76 dated 
25.04.1981, such candidates who fulfil the requisite conditions of eligibility i.e. minimum 03 
years non-fortuitOus service as on 01.01.2025 including Apprenticeship/training period in 
Level-6 (Rs.35,400- 1,12,400) and above are also eligible to appear in the above selection. 
The cut-off date for determining the eligibility for required three years of regular service is as 
on 01.01.2025 which shall include Apprenticeship/Training period. It is made clear that no 
ad-hoc service will be counted for computing the eligibility as on 01.01.2025 for the purpose 
of above selection.

(v) In terms of Railway Board's leter No. E/GP/2005/2/74 dated 13.03.08 wherein it is 
clarifed that for reckoning the minimum qualifying service of Group C employees, in case of 
own request transfer to a new unit in the same category of posts, for determining their 
eligibility for promotion to Group 'B' posts also. 
(vi) In terms of Railway Board's letter No. E(GP)2024/2/09 dated 14.10.2024 an employee 
who has been medically de-categorized should have rendered the requisite eligibility service 
in the relevant grade(s) after absorption in the alternate post for being eligible for promotion 
to Group 'B posts. These instructions pertain only to reckoning eligibility for promotion to 
Group 'B' posts. The seniority of medicaly de-categorized employees shall be determined in 
terms of paras 313(ii) & 1310 of IREM Vol.I.

3. Schenme of Examination: 
The examination shall be conducted through Centralized Computer Based Objective Type 
Examination (CBT) as per Railway Board's instructions vide letter No. E(GP)2022/2/4 dated 
28.06.2022, 07.10.2022, 11.11.2022 and E(GP)2024/2/28 dated 08.10.2024 (0) The 
examination shall comprise of 01(one) paper whih shall have 100% Objective type Multiple 
choice Questions only (i) All objective type MCQ will carry equal marks (i) There shall be no 
negative marking for incorrect answers (iv) Duration of the examination for 70% selections 
through Centralized CBT shall be two hours. The distribution of marks is as under:
