Sub: Notification for selection of AOM (Gr.’B’) against 30% LDCE quota
vacancies through CBT.

1. Vacancies assessed
In terms of Railway Board’s aforementioned letter dated 12.12.2025 it has been decided to
hold a selection for forming a panel of AOM(Group ‘B’) against 30% LDCE quota vacancies.
The break-up of vacancies are as under: -

(i) Group-C’ senior supervisors including running staff (Guards/Train Manager) of Operating
department working in Grade Rs.5000/- (5th CPC)/PB-2 Rs.9300-34800/- + GP Rs.4200/-, Level-
6 (7" CPC) and above grades with minimum 05 years of non-fortuitous service as on 01.01.2025
in the grades (including non-fortuitous service rendered in the corresponding pre-revised grades)
will be eligible for selection.

(ii) Goods Guard of Operating dept. in Pay Band- 5200- 20200/--(PB-1) with GP —Rs.2800/-
(Level-S of 7" CPC) equivalent with stationary post in Pay Band- 9300-34800/ (PB-2) with GP-
Rs.4200/-(Level-6 of 7th CPC) and above, in terms RBE No. 92/2015 are also eligible to be
considered for promotion to Group ‘B’ service in Operating Department.

(iii) In terms of instructions contained in Railway Board’s letter No. E(NG)I/81/PM1/76 dated
25.04.1981 and No. E(NG)I/93/PM1/4 dated 18.01.1993, the time spent by a Railway Servant
under training immediately before appointment to service is to be counted as non-fortuitous
service for the purpose of appearing in departmental examination including LDCE for promotion
to Group ‘B’.

The cut-off date for determining the eligibility for required five years of regular service of the
staff of Operating Department in the grade is as on 01.01.2025 which shall include
Apprenticeship/Training period. It is made clear that no ad-hoc service will be counted for
computing the eligibility as on 01.01.2025 for the purpose of above LDCE.

(iv) In terms of Railway Board's letter No, E/GP/2005/2/74 dated 13.03.2008 (RBE No. 40/2008),
in case of persons transferred on request basis to a new unit in the same category of posts, and
assigned bottom seniority therein, the service rendered by them in the previous unit may be
reckoned for determining their eligibility wherever a minimum length of service is prescribed as a
condition, for promotion in the new unit, subject to the condition that the length of service which
4 so allowed to be counted does not exceed the length of service of their immediate senior in
the new unit.

a In terms of Railway Board’s letter No. E(GP)2024/2/09 dated 14.10.2024 an employee who
has been medically de-categorized should have rendered the requisite eligibility service in the
relevant grade(s) after absorption in the alternate post for being eligible for promotion to Group
‘B’ posts. These instructions pertain only to reckoning eligibility for promotion to Group ‘B’ posts.

The Seniority of medically de-categorized employees shall be determined in terms of Paras
313(ii) and 1310 of IREM ४०.1,

3. Scheme _ of Examination: - [Authority: Railway Bd’s letter No. E(GP)2022/2/4 dated
28.06.2022 & 06.09.2022]
LDCE will be one stage only and will comprise of only 1 Paper with the following set up:

-Single Paper of 150 marks comprising 100% Objective type Multiple Choice Questions with
following distribution of marks :-
