Sub: Policy Guidelines for concession in freight charges for Short Lead Traffic.

1. Sanction of the Competent Authority is hereby accorded for grant of concession in
charging of freight for all traffic except “Coal & Coke, Iron Ore (contained in Commodity
Group No.14.1 in IRCA Goods Tariff No.49 Pt.I ४०.11), Military Traffic, Rail Material
Consignments (RMC) and Container Traffic” booked upto 100 KM as per the following:

Distance Slab Freight Concession
0-50 KM 50% (Fifty percent)
51-75 KM 25% (Twenty five percent)
76-90 KM 10% (Ten percent)
91-100 KM NIL
2. The applicable concession as mentioned above shall be given on Normal Tariff Rate (NTR).

No other concession shall be concurrently available with this policy except 6% concession
on freight applicable to traffic booked to and from North East region.

4. ° These instructions will come into force with effect from 01.07.2020 and shall remain valid
till 30.06.2021.

5. CRIS will carry out software modification for system implementation by 07.07.2020. Till
then, the concession has to be implemented by Goods clerks while preparation of Railway
Receipt with proper remarks. ZRs will depute CMIs to check the manual concession to
prevent revenue leakage till CRIS develops system implementation.
