Sub: Pre-payment of Demurrage Charge
Ref: (i) Rates Circular No.29 of 2022 dt.17.11.2022

Please refer to ECoR's letter under reference (ii) wherein Railway has sought
clarification regarding collection of Demurrage Charge in case of Port Trust Railways.
The mater has been examined. It is to state that extant guidelines regarding pre-payment
of Demurrage Charge are prescribed vide Board's circular under reference(i) wherein it is mentioned that
recovery of Demurrage Charges should be ensured within I 0

1, day of following month in case of sidings.
These guidelines are also applicable to Port Trust Railways.
Zonal Railway may collect Demurrage Charge as per above-mentioned guidelines while
doing reconciliation of Wagon Hire Charge and Demurrage Charge on monthly basis.
