Sub: Registration of indent, allotment and supply of wagons

: (i) Chapter-I1 of Goods ‘Tariff Part-I(Vol.1) and its amendments
(i)Board’s letter No.TC-1/2012/101/1 dt.31.01.2020

(iii)Board’s letter No. TC-1/2024/10l/efile/1(3453504) dt. 13.03.2024

Guidelines regarding registration of indents, allotment and supply of wagons are
prescribed vide Rule 201 of Chapter-Il of Goods 1 ailway administration are empowered
tomake temporary local variations in any of the rules regarding registration of indent, as
considered fit, to meet any exceptional circumstances.

Vide Board's letter under ref(ii) & (iii) , PCCM & PCOM have been empowered to notify
detailed guidelines regarding acceptance of indents keeping in view the local conditions .

‘The matter has been further deliberated in consultation with Freight Marketing Branch
and T.T, Directorate of Railway Board and following has been decided-

Zonal Railways, duly keeping in view the local conditions and operational feasibility,
may prescribe :
(i) maximum number of indents per customer commodity wise for each terminal.

(ii) validity period for an indent commodity wise for each terminal (say 20 days or 30
days or 45 days or so) from the date of its placement, beyond which the indent will
automatically lapse and WRF be refunded.

(iii) Similar regulation of indents may also be done in case of Premier customers. On
detection of placement of frivolous indents at any terminal, Zonal Railway may consider
withdrawal of the privilege of exemption from WRE available to Premier Customers.

CRIS/FOIS will design requisite functionality in e-RD module. FOIS will display
customer wise and commodity wise indent position for each terminal. The vacant position of
indent may be informed to the customer at the time of placing indent.
