With a view to offer tailor-made logistics to meet specific needs of the customer and provide door-to-door services, it has been decided that provision for utilization of the parcel space available in the existing as well as prospective ‘Joint Parcel Product (JPP trains)’, shall be made available to other Aggregators also. Accordingly, guidelines have been formulated for the revised policy, which would be known as ‘Joint Parcel Product — Rapid Cargo Services (JPP-RCS)’ policy, and are enclosed herewith. 2. Further, to facilitate booking of parcel space in these services by Aggregators, a ‘Virtual Aggregation Platform (VAP)’ has been developed whose link shall be made available at ‘Freight Business Development (FBD)’ portal of Indian Railways, as “https://www. fois.indianrail.gov.in/RailSAHA Y ”’. 3 CRIS is requested to make necessary arrangements at the earliest for enabling online booking, online payment and other online transactions.as envisaged in the above mentioned ‘JPP-RCS Policy’. 4. Freight shall be charged at revised JP Scale, which shall be notified shortly. This revised JP scale shall be reviewed after a period of six months from the date of operation of first JPP-RCS service. 3: This issues in consultation with Rates and Coaching Directorates, and with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways. Director Freight Marketing 1/3086214/2024 2023/TC(FM)/11/07 ‘Joint Parcel Product — Rapid Cargo Service’ (JPP-RCS) -REVISED POLICY OF JPP BACKGROUND: Indian Railways and Department of Posts have collaborated and evolved a Joint Parcel Product (JPP). The product essentially focuses on providing an integrated service, with the first-mile and last-mile service for parcels being executed by Department of Posts and the middle mile transportation being handled by the Railways, with the interfaces being suitably jointly managed. Presently, Indian Railways is running Joint Parcel Product — JPP trains on 13 identified routes (on round trip basis), in collaboration with India Post. These trains are time tabled services. With a view to improve the utilization of these services and offer tailor-made logistics to meet specific needs of the customer and provide door-to-door services, it is planne«i to introduce provision for utilization
