No.2006rro- I/23/P/Counter
New Delhi, Dated: 04/09/2006
The Chief Commercial Manager,
Southern Railway,
Chennai.
(Commercial Circular No.73 of 2006)
Sub: Earmarking of Separate Reservation Counters for RTSAs.
Please refer to your letter No.C580/VIINo1.5/2006 dated 13lhJune
2006 on the subject quoted above wherein Board's office has been
requested to issue guidelines that the system of allowing RTSAs to book
tickets from nominated counters should be dis-continued and they may be
allowed to book tickets from any counter at any PRS center in the city.
It is clarified that no such instructions have been issued from
Board's
office wherein restriction has been imposed on RTSAs to
purchase tickets from nominated PRS center. However, on receipt of the
reference from Southern Railway, the matter has been examined and it has
been decided that the decision whether any or more counter (s) is/are to be
earmarked for RTSAs at a particular PRS location, can be left to the zonal
railway (CCM).
It should, however, be ensured that after doing so
sufficient number of counters should still be available for general public at
such a location and there should be no inconvenience to general public by
earmarking such counters for RTSAs.
.
Necessary action may please be taken accordingly.
