Sub: Encashment of Pay Order for refund at the station.

Reference Para 4 of Board's fetter of even number dated 9.6.1998
regarding change in procedure for encashment of refund Pay Order. Ministry of
. Railways have decided to revise certain parts of Para 2169 (b) of 1991's
Third Edition of Indian’ Railway Commercial Manual, Volume il as per

correction slip No.25 produced on the back.

Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned immediately.

नियमावली, भाग ॥ के पैरा 2169 (ea) के कुछ भाग को बदलने का विनिश्चय किया है
जो कि पीछे दर्शाया गया है।

इस संबंध में सभी संबंधित कर्मचारियों को आवश्यक निर्देश जारी कर दिये जायें ।

The following corraction may be made in Para No. 2169(b) of Indian
Railway Commercial Manual, Volume-I, 3 Edition, 1992.

In Para 2169 (b), for the words "The payment should be........ on the
receipt” may be revised as follows:

“The passenger is not required to produce witness at the time of receiving
payment but is required to produce some proof of his/her identity like
identity card/driving license/passportiration card, etc. If the passenger
sends his/her representative for encashment of pay order, the
representative will have to produce authorisation from the passenger and
also some proof of his/her own identity. Before granting refund, the Station
Master will record the Serial Number of such proof of identity on the pay
order." ं

पैरा 2169 (ख) में, “par की गवाही .......... लिए जाने चाहिये” के

स्थान पर निम्नलिखित कर दिया जाए:

"धन वापस लेते समय यात्री को कोई गवाह प्रस्तुत नहीं करना होगा, परन्तु उसे अपनी
पहचान के लिये कोई दस्तावेज़, जैसे पहंचान-पत्र, राशन कार्ड, पासपोर्ट, ड्ाईविंग
लाईसेन्स इत्यादि प्रस्तुत करना होगा. यदि यात्री किसी अन्य व्यक्ति को धन वापसी के
भुगतान आदेश के साथ भेजता है तो उस व्यक्ति को यात्री द्वारा दिया गया प्राधिकरण
पत्र तथा अपनी पहचान को कोई दस्तावेज़ प्रस्तुत करना होगा. रिफन्ड देने से पहले
स्टेशन मास्टर ऐसे दस्तावेज़ पर दी गई क्रम संख्या को भुगतान आदेश पर नोट
करेगा.”
