दर Sub: Allotment of Defence Department Quota.

As per extant practice, allotment of Defence Department Quota
in regular trains is done by Railway Board’s Office when the same
is received from Deputy Director ‘General/MIL RAIL. Zonal
Railways have not been authorised to allot Defence Department
quota in the regular trains. The procedure is that requests received

- quota are first exarnined by Deputy Director General/ MIL RAIL,
who in turn, forward the same to the:Ministry of Railways with his

requests for allotment of Defence Department quota received by
zonal railways from the concerned Movement Controlling Officer
(MCO) are sent to Ministry of Railways for consideration which is
in violation of the extant procedure explained above.

Ministry of Railways desire that Zonal Railways should ensure
that whenever the requests are received from Movement
Controlling Officer (MCO) office, for alidtment of reservation quota
in regular trains, they may be directed to refer that demand the
Movement Directorate in Army Headquarter who would scrutinize
and refer to Ministry of Railways.
