Zonal Railways have not been authorised to allot Defence Department quota in the regular trains. The procedure is that requests reccived _ from’ Various defence units for allotdiént of Defence Department quota are first examined by. Deputy Director General/ MIL RAIL, who in turn, forward the same to the Ministry of Railways with his -, recommendation. Instance have, however, come to notice that the पर requests for allotment of Defence Department quota received by zonal raihways from the concerned Movement Controlling Officer (MCO} are sent to Ministry of Raitways for consideration which is in violation of the extant procedure explained above. Ministry of Railways desire that Zonal Railways should ensure that whenever the requests are received from Movement Controlling Officer (MCO) office, for alidtinent of reservation quota in regular trains, they may be directed to refer that demand the Movement Directorate in Army Headquarter who would scrutinize and refer to Ministry of Railways.
