CORRIGENDUM to Commercial Circular No. 52 of 2009
Sub: Fare Structure of Nizamuddin-Pune-Nizamuddin and Howrah-CSTM
Howrah Duronto Trains.
Ref:
Commercial Circular No. 52 of 2009
(Board’s letter No. TC-II/2910//09/Duronto dated 25.9.09.
As per para-4 of the above mentioned circular, concession in case of Senior Citizen
fares are to be calculated on basic fares only. However, in terms of Board’s letter of even
number dated 15.9.09 concessions for Duronto trains are to be calculated in a manner similar
to that of trains having point to point fare structure, i.e. instead of granting concession on base
fares, concession will be granted on all inclusive fare excluding Development charge which
will be added subsequently by the System logic for arriving at the final fare.
In view of the above, it is clarified that para-4 of the above mentioned circular may
be read as follows:-
“For the time being, no concession except that of Senior Citizen shall be
applicable in Duronto Express trains. Concession shall be calculated in a manner
similar to that of trains having point to point fare structure, i.e. instead of
granting concession on base fares, concession will be granted on all inclusive
fare excluding Development charge which will be added subsequently by the
System logic for arriving at the final fare.”
This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways.
Necessary action may please be taken accordingly.
