Sub: Fare Structure of Sealdah-New Delhi-Sealdah and Chennai-Nizamuddin-
Chennai Duronto Trains.
As per Hon’ble MR’s Budget announcement for 2009-10, a new train service
called Duronto is being introduced which will be a non-stop point-to-point service
between select cities throughout the country. This train will have AC as well as non-AC
sleeper coaches.

Two such trains, Sealdah-New Delhi-Sealdah, and Chennai-Nizamuddin-Chennai
are being introduced from 18.9.09. The fares of these trains are enclosed herewith as
Annexure to this letter.
3.
Development charges, Reservation Fee and Supplementary charges for superfast
trains will be levied additionally as per explanatory notes given in Annexure. Catering
charges are to be added in fares of all classes including 3AC Economy and SL class.
However, bedroll would be provided in SL class on demand, and bedroll charges will be
collected from such passengers on train.
4.
The same fare structure shall be applicable round the year in Duronto trains.
5.
For the time being, no concession except that of Senior Citizen shall be applicable
in Duronto trains. Concession shall be calculated on basic fares only. Other charges
shall be levied in full.
6.
No concessional vouchers, warrants or rail travel coupons shall be accepted for
travel by these Duronto trains
7. Children of 5 years and above but below 12 years will continue to be charged half fare.

8.
There will be no ‘Tatkal’ facility applicable in Duronto Trains for the time being.
9. The use of Pass/PTO may not be implemented for the time being in Duronto trains.
