Sub: NEES interface with devices at the station

National Train Enquiry System (NTES) has been implemented at a
large number of stations. All devices at the staion viz announcement
system, display boards, face to face enquiries: and ]VRSs -hould : 09६ .
connected to the N'TES.

Standardized interface developed by CRIS’ should’ be used ‘and
software in the existing system should be uppraded by the respective
vendors, Details are enclosed in Annexure |

This issues with concurrence of Telecom Directorate of Railway
Board. . |

NTES interface with devices at the station

Phase | of the NTES has been implemented by all the Zonal Railways on the off-
line system of PRS. In the Phase II of the system ali devices at the station viz.
announcement systems, display boards, face to face enquiry and IVRSs are required to be
connected to NTES,

Standardised interfaced protocol has already been developed by CRIS in this
respect which is already operational in Northern Railway for interface with all the IVRSs.

All the devices mentioned above should be interfaced with NTES which will
benefit into two ways न, , .

l, Multiple entries into various systems will be reduced. Thus giving a uniform
arrival times-in all the devices. .

2. The manpower which is etigaged in updating various devices will be saved. .
It should be ensured that all the devices are connected to NTES at all ‘A’ class
stations. The standard interface software will be developed by CRIS but the responsibility

of interfacing of various devices will be that of the supplier of the various devices.

In future, all other devices also which display train timings and arrival/departure
information should have above protocol before purchase. ः ः
