With a view to improve dispensation of unreserved tickets in city areas, a scheme of Jan
Sadharan Ticket Booking Sewak (JTBS) was conceptualized and introduced vide letters referred to
above. In this regard some suggestions have been received from Zonal Railways to make certain
amendments in the Scheme with a view to make it more popular. These suggestions have been
-examinedand it has been decided as under:-
a)
JTBS operators may be allowed to renew season tickets. Each season ticket is to be treated
as a single ticket/single passenger for the purpose of levy of service charge.
b) Service charges to be realised by JTBS shall be @ Re.l/- per passenger instead of Re.lI-
per ticket.
c)
Bank guarantee has been reduced to Rs.20,0001- from RsAO,OOOI-and Security Deposit has
been reduced to Rs.5,0001- from Rs.15,0001-.
d) JTBS operators may be permitted to operate one additional counter provided the sale of
tickets is more than 800 per day on each counter for at least a period of one month.
e)
JTBS operators may be allowed to shift from the original location to a new location at his
own cost with a view to increase sale of tickets.
f)
The present tenure of contract of 2 years is
enhanced to 3 years renewable by another
tenure of three years subject to satisfactory performance of the JTBS operator and if he
abides by all other terms and conditions prevailing at the time of renewal.
2.1
CRIS will make necessary modification in the software for I(a) & I(b) and will advise the
date of effect to all Zonal Railways as well as this office.
2.2
All other clauses mentioned in para I above shall come into force with immediate effect.
2.3
These instructions will be applicable to all JTBSs including those who are existing JTBS
licensee and also those who are appointed as out come of the ongoing selection process.
2.4
All other terms and conditions would remain the same.
