Sub: Provision of RAC system in modified 3 AC/Sleeper class
coaches.

Please refer to Board’s instructions of even number dated 14.11.2006
regarding provision of RAC system in Garib Rath trains.

The above instructions have been reviewed and it has been decided that
earmarking of RAC accommodation in the AC 3 tier/Sleeper class coaches
introduced/to be introduced in Garib Rath trains and other Mail/Express trains
having capacity of 81-84 berths, will be done as per details given below:-

Garib Rath trains

(a) Three RAC passengers will be booked on berth Nos. 4 & 5 in |
bay of each AC-3 tier coach of Garib Rath Express trains, running
with modified coaches having nine berths in each bay.

(b) During the day time the passenger of berth number 9 (side upper)
will sit on berth number I (cabin lower berth) alongwith passengers
of berths No. 1, 2 & 3. Similarly during day time, passengers of
berth numbers 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63---- will sit on berths numbers,
10, 19, 28, 37, 46, 55-----.

(c) The passengers of side lower and side middle berth will sit on the
side lower berth during the day time.

Other Mail/-xpress trains trains

(d) In AC 3 Tier coaches with 81-84 berths to be introduced in future
in other Mail/Express trains, the pattern mentioned in (a), (b) & (c)
above will be applicable.

(e) In case of sleeper class coaches on similar pattern having nine
berths in each bay, 6 persons will be booked in RAC in each
coach, 3 persons each on berth No. 4 & 5 and 10 &ll. The
arrangement of providing sitting accommodation to the passengers
of side berths and those on RAC will be on the pattern of AC-3 tier
coaches. .

Necessary action may be taken accordingly and receipt of this letter may be

acknowledged.
