(Commercial Circular No. 10 of 2006)

‘Sub: Provision of RAC system in Gerib Rath.

re he नम. .

. One Garib Rath train has been introduced between Amritsar &
Saharsa and few more are likely to be introduced shortly. In the present rake
AC - 3 tier coaches have the capacity of 75 berths with हैं berths in each bay
just like normal AC - 3 tier coaches. In the rakes proposed in Garib Rath to
be introduced in future the capacity of the coach will be $1/84 berths with
each bay having nine berths i.e. 2 each lower, middle and upper berths in side
the cabin and three side berths ie. side lower, side middle, side upper. It is
desired that RAC system may be introduced in these trains as per details
given below: -

i) In the existing rake having 8 berths in each bay, 8 passengers
with RAC may be booked just like normal trains.

it) In the modified rake having nine berths in each bay, हैं
passengers with RAC status should be booked as per details
given below:-

@ The passenger of berth number 9 (side upper} will be
ptovided sitting accommodation on berth number | (cabin
lower berth). This logic should be followed for allotting
sitting arrangement for side upper berth in all bays.

& The passengers of side lower and side middle berth will
sit on the side lower berth.

Berth number 4 {cabin lower) should be allotted to 2 RAC
passengers. This would mean that in this bay there will be
artangement for 4 sitting passengers on the cabin lower
berth.

This arrangement should be duplicated for the first two
bays on both end of the coaches”.

Necessary action may be taken accordingly and receipt of this letter

may be acknowledged.
