Sub: Withdrawal of service charge of Rs. 30/- applicable on transactions against Credit
and Debit cards for purchasing journey tickets at PRS counter,

Ref: Gi) Board’s letter no. TCII/2418/88 dated 15.3.2000
(ii) Commercial Circular No. 12 of2008 dated 18.2.2008

In reference to the above mentioned letters Ministry of Railways have decided to
withdraw thé service charge of Rs.30/- applicable on transactions against credit and debit cards
for purchasing journey tickets at PRS counters. This will be implemented for tickets to be
booked on or after 01.06.2016. Now no service charge shall be levied on purchase’ of journey
tickets at PRS counters through Credit/Debit cards

This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
