Commercial circular  No- 20 of 2009 
 
 
Sub: Grant of concession to AIDS patients for treatment at    nominated      
ART (Anti Retroviral Therapy) centre. 
 
 
In partial modification of Board’s circular of even number dated 14.3.2008 
(Commercial Circular No.18 of 2008), it has been decided with immediate effect that: 
 
  (i)       the term “AIDS”  is  replaced by “Immuno-Compromised”; 
 (ii) 
 the validity period of the concession certificate for HIV/AIDS (hence forth 
termed as “Immuno Compromised”) is extended from three months to six 
months. 
 
 
All other terms and condition of the circular will remain unchanged. 
 
 
Zonal Railways may arrange to revise the certificates accordingly and 
specimen copies of the certificates may be sent to concerned ART centres situated 
in their Zones and also advise them about this.  The existing certificates will, 
however, continue to be accepted till the new certificates are printed.  Necessary 
instruction to this effect may be issued to all concerned immediately and suitable 
changes incorporated in PRS, manual ticketing system, SPTM, UTS etc. wherever 
required.
