Sub: Amendment to section 137 and 138. of the Railways
Act, 1989 proposal for enhancing tle mininan
penalty of Rs.S6/- to Rs. 250/- in case of ticket less

‘A Bill to amend gections 137 (3) and 138 (3) has been passed by the
Parliament raising ‘the minimum penalty rom Rs. उ0/- to Rs. 250/- for
ticketless travel. A copy of the notification ‘dated 31.12.2003 issued by the
Ministry of Law and Justice and a copy. of notification dated 3.6.2004 issued
by Secretary Railway Board appointing 1.7:2004 as the date on which the
penalty shall be enhanced, are enclosed herewith. te

Board desire that the enhancement of minimum penalty wef.
1.7.2004 may be brought to the notice of all the concerned fior!compliance.
Wide publicity through various media to inform the gerieral public should
also be given. well in advance. Necessary changes may also be made in the
time table, rule books, manuals etc wherever required. .

है, जबसे इस पैनल्टी में बढ़ोतरी की जाएगी , इसके साथ संलम्न है. एम दर,

बोर्ड चाहता है कि न्यूनतम पैनल्टी में 1.7 .2004 से की गाने जाली बढ़ोतरी को
अनुपालन हेतु सर्व-संबंधित के नोटिस में लावा जाएं: आम जनता को "सूचित करने : के fee
