No.2006/TG-1/20/P New Delhi, Dated:¢€/12/2006

The Chief Commercial Managers,
Alt Indian Railways.

(Commercial Circular Ne, 104 of 2006)
Sub; Provision of Boarding Facility

Para 637 of Indian Railway Commercial Manual, Vol. 1 1992
provides for changing the Boarding point if a specific request ts
made in writing to the station from which the ticket was purchased
and reservation made, at least 24 hours before the scheduled
- departure of the train from that station.

Railways were further advised vide Board's fetter No.97/TG-
/20/P/ Boarding facility dated 04/08/1997 and O8/O8/1997 that
boarding facility should be made available at all the terminals and
where it 15 suspected that such facility wilt be misused, close watch
should be kept by the Railways.

il is. noticed that on some Railways the request for chasing
the Boarding point is not accepted on the day the reservation ts
made. The matter has been examined and it has been decided that in
case ticket is from train originating station, request for change of
' boarding point can be considered any time, including on the day the
reservation is made and upto 24 hours before the scheduled
departure of the train from that station as per para 637 of IRCM Vol.
- 3. In other cases extant practice may be continued. Railways
should keep a walch on the utilisation of quotas provided at
originating and remote locations and do adjustments to reduce
mismatch between demand and availability. -Additional remote
locations may be defined where it is suspected that the facility of
boarding point is prone to misuse.

Necessary instructions may be issued to all concemed,
