Sub: Complimentary Card passes issued to freedom fighters/their
widows- validity to travel in Duronto trains.
A copy of instructions issued by Establishment Directorate of Board’s
Office vide their letter No. E(W)2007/PS 5-3/10 dated 13.12.2012 on the subject
quoted above is enclosed for information and necessary action.
2. CRIS will make necessary modification in the software and will intimate
the date of effect to all Zonal Railways as well as this office.

Ref: Railway Board’s letter No.E(W)89/ PS 5-6 /13 Vol. I dated
13.08.1989 and letters of even number dated 16.06.2010 and
24,05,2011.
In terms of Railway Board’s letters referred above, freedom fighters/their widows
receiving pension from Central revenues under the “Swantantrata Sainik Samman Pension
Scheme” of the Government of India, are issued Complimentary Card passes on life time
' basis for free rail travel over all Indian Railways (except Metro Railway/Kolkata) in 1“
‘Class/2™ AC alongwith one companion in same Class by any train including
Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Jan Shatabdi trains.
2. Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) have now decided that the 1° Class/2" AC
Complimentary Card passes issued to freedom fighters/their widows shall also be valid for
travel in 2"? AC/3™ AC in Duronto trains alongwith one companion in same Class, besides
the facility of rail travel already admissible. Accordingly, suitable endorsement may be
made on the Complimentary Card passes issued to freedom fighters/their widows regarding
validity in Duronto trains as aforesaid, under the signatures of pass issuing authority.
3. Other conditions of the scheme shall remain same.
4, This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways,
