Sub: Revision of rules for postponement and preponement of journey
7 under rule 213.9 of IRCA Coaching Tarit No. 25, Part | (Vol. 1)
of Railways have decked to revise the existing rule 213.9 of IRCA
Ministry
_ Coaching Tariff No. 25, Part | (Vol. }) regarding postponement and preponement
journey on reserved, RAC and watting lst tickets The Existing and Revised rules are
Postponement of journey:
‘Existing rules
“213.9... Postponement or preponement of journey on a reserved, RAC or waitiisted ticket
(1) Postponement of journey on reserved, RAC or waitlisted ticket shai! be allowed in
. the same class in any other train on the same day or any subsequent day f- -
(a) ‘the ticket is presented during the working. hours of the reservation office and
" atleast twenty four hours before the scheduled departure of the train in which reservation has
(0) = accommodation is available in the train in which reservation is required.”
(a) Confirmed Tickets: Postponement of journey on confirmed tickets
shail be allowed in the same or any higher class, by any subsequent train on the same
of any subsequent day, for same or any longer destination, provided that :-

- i)” fresh reservation fee for the class for which reservation is required is paid, —
in case of tickets surrendered during working hours and at least 24 hours before

of tickets surrendered during working hours and within 24 hrs & 4 hours before

Wait listed Tickets shail be allowed In the same or higher class, by any subsequent train
on the same or any subsequent day, for same or any longer destination, provided that -
(i) . confirmed or RAC or waiting list accommodation is available in the train in
-which fresh reservation is required ;
(ii) ticket is surrendered during working hours and upto the maximum time
mits mentioned in rule 213.6(i)(c) (.e. 3/8/12 hre, depending on distance)

Existing rules
“(2) Preponement of journey on reserved, RAC or waitlisted ticket shail be allowed in
the sarne class by any sartier train on the same day or any earlier day
(a) _— the ticket is surrendered during working hours of reservation office and
atleast six hours before the scheduled departure of the train in which reservation is required
(b) accommodation is available in the train in which reservation ie required

RAC & wait listed tickets shail be allowed in the same or any higher class, by any earlier —
train on the sarne day or any earlier day, for same or any ionger destination,
that : -

(b). ticket Is surrendered during working hours of reservation office and at
least 6 hours before scheduled departure of the train in which reservation is
required or before preparation of reservation chan, whichever is later .
(c) fresh reservation fee for the class for which reservation is required is paid
in case of preponement on confirmed tickets ; and
(d) clerkage charge is paid, in case of preponement on RAC & wait listed
{a). _ confirmed or RAC or waiting list accommodation is available in the train in
