SWR letter no. C. 518/De-reservation/3AC to CC/2018-19 dated 25.05.2018 ~ 2. SR letter no. C.625/PRS/16332 dated 13.03.2018. 3. SR letter no. C.625/PRS/12224 dated 06.06.2018 Ministry of Railways have decided to delegate powers to General Managers of all Zonal » ° Railways to declare requisite number of AC-3 tier coaches in identified trains as AC chair Car Coach during daytime where the AC-3 tier coaches are running empty or in locked condition due to insufficient demand. AC chair car fares may be charged for travel in such coaches. 2. In case of trains which have higher fare in AC 3-tier than normal Mail/Express like Humsafar/Rajdhani/Duronto/Suvidha/Special trains on special charges etc. Shatabdi fare of AC chair car shall be charged uniformly without any flexi fare or variable fare. 3. In case of Garib Rath Express, AC Chair Car fare for Garib Rath Express shall be charged. 4. Based on demand, Principal Chief Commercial Managers may identify specific trains on specific sections and with the approval of General Managers may declare requisite number of AC-3 tier coaches to be deemed as AC Chair Car, during day time. 5. For implementation of this scheme, the following points should be kept in consideration:- i. There is a lack of. demand for AC-3 tier accommodation in identified trains/sections as observed over a period of time/seen from PRS data and corresponding expected demand for AC chair car. ii. Initially the AC-3 tier coach in a particular train over a particular section may be declared as AC chair car coach on an experimental basis for six months. The same shall be reviewed _ . and based on the comparative occupancy vis-a-vis earnings position, further decision may _ be taken. . : aaa: iil. A suitable mechanism shall be put in place by the Railways to keep reoular watch on the utilization of such coaches. Record of incremental earning from additional traffic generated may also be kept for future reference. iv. Periodical review shall be undertaken and whenever the demand for AC-3tier class accommodation increases, requisite number of coaches could may again be restored as AC- 3tier class coaches, with the approval of the General Manager. --2/._ Scanned by CamScanner a 3.
