Bie Raitt “Wm a THOR sy ts00d Sub: Clarification regarding timeline for cancellation of Privilege Pass Surrender Certificate (PPSC), Ref: Railway’s letter No, P(FP)473/Pass/AILTC dated 30.05.2024, L Southern Railway, vide their above cited letter, have s Ht clarification as to whether PPSC can be cancelled after 31" December and Pri lege Pass Account re- opened, as Privilege Passes of that Calendar Year (CY) are valid upte 30" May of subsequent year, . 2. In this context, it is stated that in terms of provisions of CCS(LTC) Rules-1988 and clarification issued vide Board’s letter No. 2022/E(W)/12/1 dated 16.11.2022. it is mandatory to commence onward journey on or before 31" December of the CY in which AILTC facility has been preferred, otherwise PPSC lapses. The only exception is in case of “last year of 4 year’s AILTC Block” in which AILTC journey is permitted till the end of next CY PPSC remains valid till next CY, as already advised vide Board’s letter No. E(W)/2020/PS5- 1/3 dated 11.11.2021, bE Accordingly, it is clarified that PPSC of a CY cannot be cancelled after 31° December of the CY, excepting in case of last year of 4 year’s Block. 4.
