As it is known, a sanction of Rs. 12,000 crores were allocated under Plan Head 53 - Customer amenities for the umbrella work "Upgradation/ Modernization of Infrastructure at good sheds (Umbrella work 2023-24)', and Rs. 2,500 crores were allocated for the umbrella work ‘Provision of parcel & goods shed related facilities on zonal Railways (Umbrella Work 2024-25). However, it has been observed that, as of 31.12.2024, only 54.59% of the total allocation has been utilized for the umbrella work ‘Modernization/ Upgradation of Infrastructure at Goods Sheds (Umbrella work 2023-24)’. Additionally, no funds have been utilized under the work ‘Provision of Parcel & Goods Shed Related Facilities on Zonal Railways’ (Umbrella Work 2024-25). A fund utilization statement for Goods Shed development works under Plan Head 53 (Umbrella Work) as of 31.12.2024 is enclosed herewith, highlighting the poor utilization of allocated funds. It is, therefore, requested ’to review the works under these Plan Heads and take necessary measures to ensure the optimum utilization of funds, so that improved performance is reflected in the coming months.
