Railway Board’s letters cited under reference (3) and (4) regarding
establishment of Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Kendra (PMBJKs) outlets at
railway stations are enclosed for information and necessary action at your end.
Please refer to item (7) of Board’s letter dated 31.10.2023, wherein it is stated that
the provisions of the Model code of conduct in poll-bound states may be complied
with, may be noted and act accordingly.
Further, Para (3) of reference (2) elaborates that ‘based on deliberations with
Gatishakti Directorate, it is advised that the outlets are to be fabricated on One
Station One Product lines. Further, in case any division has exhausted its outlay
provided under the umbrella work “Soft upgrade of station”, then they may approach
Zonal Headquarters for forwarding the same to ED/Station Development and
Transformation, Railway Board.
Matter may be treated on priority.

(PMBJKs) at railway stations

Reference: Commercial Circular No. 12 of 2023 dated 08.08.2023
Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBJKs) are mandated to be
established at 50 pilot locations on mission mode within the stipulated timelines.
As per CC No. 12 of 2023, the outlets are to be fabricated by Railways as per the
approved
design
(to
be
provided by
NID,
Ahmedabad.
The
tentative
cost
of
fabrication as indicated by NID is Rs 10,00,000/- (Ten lakhs).
2. In this regard, during the course of the CCMs’ conference held at Board’s office
on 20.10.2023, queries were raised by certain Zonal Railways with respect to
fabrication and accessing funds under PH 53 for fabrication of the PMBJK outlet.
3. In this context, based on deliberations with Gatishakti Directorate, it is advised
that the outlets are to be fabricated by Zones, on One Station One Product (OSOP)
lines. Further, in case any zone has exhausted its outlay provided under the
umbrella work “Soft upgrade of station”, then they may approach the office of
ED/Station Development & Transformation, Railway Board with a formal request.
Accordingly, necessary action may be taken by Zones to ensure that the
weliness and welfare initiative of PMBJK is implemented in mission-mode.
This issues with the approval of competent authority.
