Government of India Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) No. 2023/NFR/33/JAK New Delhi E-office no. 3423850 Dated: 09.10.2024 Principal Chief Commercial Managers All Zonal Railways; and PCOM, Metro Railway Kolkata (Commercial Circular No. 09 of 2024) Subject: Setting up of additional 39 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras at railway stations — regarding In the pursuit to enhance wellness and welfare of passengers and public visiting railway stations and to promote Government of India’s mission to make available quality medicines and consumables (Janaushadhi products) for all, Indian Railways had conceptualized a policy framework to establish Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBIKs) in circulating areas and concourses of railway stations vide Commercial Circular no. 12 of 2023 dated 08.08.2023. Further, it was decided to set up additional PMBIKs at 61 locations and accordingly, instructions were issued vide Commercial Circular No. 03 of 2024 dated 01.05.2024. 2. In continuation to the successful initiative, it has been decided to set up additional PMBIKs at 39 locations as per Annexure A enclosed. The procedure to be followed for setting up of the PMBIKs and the allocation of funds for procurement of the fabricated PMBJK stalls (approximately Rs. 12.23 lakh per stall under PH 53 (umbrella works - soft upgradation of stations)) shall be as per CC 12 of 2023 and the detailed design document contained in Board’s letter dated 11.11.2023. 3. Accordingly, Zonal Railways are advised to initiate the process for setting up of additional 39 PMBIKs following due procedure, model code of conduct and any other extant guidelines/instructions of Board in general, and the Election Commission of India in specific.
